How to get to Freiburg

Travel via airport

Frankfurt Airport

approx. 270 km from Freiburg but with an excellent direct Inter City Express (ICE) connection from Frankfurt Airport to Freiburg Rail Station in about 2 hours. German Rail timetable: www.bahn.de.

Airport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (EuroAirport)

located in France, in the tri-national Upper Rhine Region, the nearest airport (60 km) to Freiburg. You can get from the airport to Freiburg direct by the Airport Bus (approx. 55 min., timetable under www.freiburger-reisedienst.de) or by bus n^o 50 (timetable: www.bvb-basel.ch/fp_l50.htm) changing to train at Basel Central Rail Station (SBB). German Rail (Deutsche Bahn) timetable: www.bahn.de.

Strasbourg Airport (Aèroport international Strasbourg)

approx. 60 km away from Freiburg. The Shuttle train (timetable) stops at the airport up to 4 per hour, allowing you to be in Strasbourg station in 9 minutes. Train connections from Strasbourg Rail Station: www.bahn.de.

Airport Karlsruhe-Baden (Baden Airpark)

approx. 100 km north of Freiburg between Baden-Baden and Karlsruhe. There are ICE train connections from Karlsruhe or Baden-Baden to Freiburg: www.bahn.de. Zurich Airport

approx. 150 km from Freiburg with a regional train connection to Zurich Rail Station and a direct ICE connection from Zurich Rail Station to Freiburg Rail Station. Trains run between Zurich Rail Station and the airport every 10 minutes during peak periods (travel time: 10 minutes). Train connections from Zurich Rail Station: www.bahn.de.
